NAB and Malaysia’s Anti-Corruption Commission Sign Pact to Fight Corruption
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission have signed a memorandum of understanding. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two agencies in combating corruption. It was signed during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s three-day visit to Malaysia.
Under the memorandum, both countries will work closely to prevent and eliminate corrupt practices. The institutions will share information and support each other in investigations. This partnership marks a step forward in cross-border anti-corruption efforts.
NAB’s deputy chairman and the Chief Commissioner of Malaysia’s Anti-Corruption Commission signed the agreement. They emphasized the importance of international cooperation in tackling corruption globally. Their collaboration seeks to increase accountability and transparency in both countries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the agreement, highlighting its significance for stronger bilateral relations. He said that Pakistan is committed to fighting corruption and promoting good governance. The MoU reflects Pakistan’s resolve to work with international partners.
Both agencies plan to implement the agreement soon and hold regular meetings to assess progress. They aim to create a model for future cooperation between anti-corruption bodies worldwide. This pact is expected to boost joint efforts against corruption in South Asia and beyond.
